Join us for the Swim Series Activation Water Safety Event at Howard University, brought to you by the Northeastern Region of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. in partnership with Diversity in Aquatics, SWIM 1922, Safe Kids Worldwide, and Cigna Healthcare.
This hands-on community event is designed to help youth build confidence in and around the water through engaging, skill-based activities both in and out of the pool. Participants will have the opportunity to learn essential water safety practices, explore aquatic skills, and connect with experienced instructors and community leaders.
The event will feature two sessions to allow for a more personalized and interactive experience:
We’re also excited to feature Olympian Maritza McClendon, whose leadership and impact continue to inspire the next generation of swimmers.
This event brings together families, youth, and community partners with a shared goal: expanding access to water safety education and creating more opportunities for young people to safely engage in aquatics.
